STINNETT -- Construction is underway at West Texas High School, after voters in Stinnett approved two bonds in November.

The bonds, worth $32 million, will provide the school with a new sports complex that includes a new football field, new basketball gym, and new softball and baseball stadiums.

Superintendent Bill Wiggins says keeping all the fields close together will keep students safe.

"It is gonna put all of the activities in a central location," said Wiggins. "We're not sending kids from one side of town to the other side of town, it will make it a whole lot more convenient for them."

Wiggins says construction on the football field should be complete by two a days in August.
