(NBC News) Saying that climate change is undeniable, President Obama ordered federal spending Wednesday on new programs aiding citizens who are experiencing the negative results of climate change.
These programs will ensure ample supplies of water and electric power during the drought and floods already causing severe problems across the nation.
More than a dozen state and local officials came to Washington D.C. on Wednesday to join the President in an attempt to counter the effects of climate change.
"Climate change poses a direct threat to the infrastructure of America that we need to stay competitive in this 10th century economy," said President Obama at a previous meeting with the State, Local, and Tribal Leaders Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience.
This Obama task will have more recommendations soon for actions the President can take on his own to combat climate change.
