Celebrating Super Bowl Sunday

Fans of both teams headed out in Amarillo to show their support.
Super bowl fans here in town headed out to some area restaurants and bars, and weren't hesitating to show their colors.

We found out it was a full house at many sports bars around town, including Acupulcos in downtown Amarillo.

The restaurant was full of people, and Bronocs and Seahawks fans wanted to be heard.

The New York Daily news says the Super Bowl is the second highest food consumption day in America, only trailing Thanksgiving of course.

But many headed out to local restaurants not only to eat, but to cheer on their favorite NFL team, and party.

Statistics prove more Super Bowl parties happen than New Years Eve parties.

We talked to Broncos and Seahawks fans, and got their take on the big game.

"I am routing for the Denver Broncos because I think they're the greatest team in the NFL."

"Go Seahawks!  I'm thinking man I got to go for them, they've got to do it this time!"

Both fans say no matter who wins they were expecting a good game.

Many of the fans we talked to tell us Super Bowl Sunday isn't just for rooting on your favorite team

Whether your a Seahawks or Broncos fan, it's also a day to bring the community together.

We wanted to remind football fans to be safe after last call

Last year on Super Bowl Sunday in Texas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety, there were 112  crashes involving alcohol, resulting in 39 serious injuries and four fatalities over just a 24 hour period.
