It was the first weekly honor for Castillo this season and the second for McCuller.  Castillo, a kicker, set the school and conference record for career scoring on Saturday in the Buffs’ 69-7 victory at Texas A&M-Kingsville.  Castillo entered the game just four points behind former Buffalo DeWayne Miles (1997-2000) with 328 points.

For his career, he is 48 of 59 in field goals (.814) and is 199 of 202 (.985) in extra-points.

McCuller, a native of Red Oak, Texas, had another strong outing as he led the game with 14 tackles, including five solo stops and nine assisted tackles.  McCuller, a linebacker, spearheaded a defense that held one of the top rushing attacks in the conference and the nation to just 96 yards on the ground and a WT defense season-best 188 total yards.

He is 25th nationally in tackles per game (10.8) which also leads the conference.

McCuller leads the team in tackles for the season with 43 (19-24) and has three tackles for loss.  He has one sack, one interception, one pass breakup and one hurry.  For his career, McCuller has 131 solo tackles and 305 total tackles with 20.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception, nine quarterback hurries and four pass breakups.
