Tim Cook traveled more then 1,500 miles on foot to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society in 2012.

"I hiked for about six months. From Georgia. Finished up in Massachusetts," Cook said of his journey.

Cook's wife Cathy was diagnosed with MS several years ago. The couple is from Canyon.

Cathy inspired Tim to hike, and on the journey he raised $12,000 for the MS Society.

"It certainly gave me the drive to continue. I mean, it was a difficult, difficult walk, but knowing that we were reaching so many people and raising so much money was a good feeling to keep me pushing forward," Cook said.

This weekend, Cook will hop on a bike, continuing his journey to fight MS, as he rides the rim at Palo Duro Canyon.

Cook and his team, Out Spokin' For MS, are one of the top five fundraisers for the ride, currently sitting at more than $4,400 raised.

"I don't have words to describe how I feel that he sacrifices like he does. I mean, you've got everyday life sacrifices and then you have him taking on these huge challenges," Cathy Cook said.

Huge challenges, all to benefit research and awareness of multiple sclerosis.

"People just don't know about, other than you wind up in a wheelchair. And that's just not the face of MS today," Tim said.

"Everybody knows somebody with MS, whether they know it or not," Cathy said.

And all those people, Cathy Cook included, are the reason many will 'Ride The Rim' this weekend.
