(NBC News) The Boston Marathon is 12 days away in Boston, Massachusetts and, on Capitol Hill, lawmakers on Wednesday demanded to know if the hard lessons of last year were learned. Important questions were broght to light such as "are the FBI and CIA looking at anyone who might attack the event?" and, "are they sharing what they learn?"
The new marathon finish line has been placed on Boylston Street in Boston. Many runners who could not finish last year due to the explosions say that they mean to get their Boston Marathon medals this year, and send a message to terrorists.
"To go back and say 'you can't do this to us.' There's no way that you can deter us from doing what we want to do." said runner April Farnham
