Natural gas is a huge part of the energy business in the Permian Basin.

But to produce the gas, you need a compressor.

And Local Big 2 News got a look at the inside job.

It begins with the pieces of the pipe and putting all the parts in place.

Little by little everything begins to come together in an assembly line, composed of two man crews. 

It’s an assembly line that takes about a week to be completed and then the compressors are out of the shop in about nine days.
