APD Arrest Two After Suspicious Behavior

As officers were checking the vehicle they determined the truck was reported stolen out of Borger on April 21st. The driver was arrested for UUMV and the outstanding warrants.
AMARILLO -- On Wednesday around 2 p.m., APD COPPS officers watched a suspicious vehicle in the 4100 block of S Polk.  The driver of the F-250 Pick-Up with temporary buyer’s tags started backing out onto the street then pulled back in when he observed the officers driving down the street. 

Officers stopped and talked with the male driver 31-year-old Michael Brad Sawyer.

Sawyer was found to have an outstanding Aggregated Theft warrant out of Randall County as well as 3 local Municipal warrants. As officers were checking the vehicle they determined the truck was reported stolen out of Borger on April 21st. The driver was arrested for UUMV and the outstanding warrants. 

A female passenger in the vehicle, 31-year-old Erica Ann Thorn, was arrested on an outstanding parole warrant with an original charge of fraud, possession of identifying information and two local municipal warrants. 

There were numerous pieces of identifying information (credit cards, mail, misc. papers) belonging to other people (from Borger) located in the truck. A laptop computer was also seized due to the belief that it was stolen. 

A third occupant of the vehicle was issued a misdemeanor citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and later released. 

This incident remains under investigation.
