AMARILLO -- Amarillo Police arrest three people after verbal argument escalates into shooting and vehicle chase/crash.

Amarillo Police were called out originally to the 3300 block of Lewis Lane on a verbal argument between a separated husband and wife.

As police arrived, dispatch received calls about shots fired.

Police report that the husband was removing personal items from a vehicle that he shared with his wife.

The wife, 35-year-old Andrea Maria Hadaway came out of the house and confronted the husband and a verbal argument ensued. The husband decided to leave. However, Hadaway partially climbed in the driver’s side window of the husband truck in an attempt to keep him there. While the husband was driving down the street, Hadaway bit part of one of his fingers off. Somewhere near 34th and Lewis, Hadaway either, jumped, fell or was pushed off the truck.

As this was going on, Police say two other males, 43-year-old Preston Lerue Embry and an unidentifed suspect, had gotten into a white Pontiac Grand Am from the original address on Lewis and began chasing down the husband.

As the truck was trying to evade the Pontiac, the occupants of the Pontiac fired at least 3 shots at the truck near the intersection of 34th and Patterson. The truck continued to evade the Pontiac as the vehicles circled the surrounding area.

One passenger in the Pontiac told the driver to let him out near 35th and Virginia in an apparent attempt to ambush the driver of the husband.

A few minutes later the husband was driving south bound on Virginia in the 3400 block. The male passenger that was let out earlier stepped in front of the Dodge PU and fired another round at the driver at 3414 S Virginia.

The driver struck the suspect with the front of his truck and continued southbound then turning westbound onto 35th, then turned a northern direction where the truck crashed into the south west corner of the residence at 3414 S Virginia.

The residence is unoccupied.

The suspect was still on the front of the truck when the driver crashed into the house.

The driver suffered multiple gunshots to the upper part of the body and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect that was smashed into the house was located inside the house and was taken into custody. He was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers went to the original location on Lewis for follow up and located Embry of the Pontiac.

Embry was arrested and later booked into Randall County on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Andrea Hadaway was also arrested for Aggravated Assault causing serious bodily injury.

The other suspect is being guarded at a local hospital and upon medical release, will be booked on Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon charge.

Another female, 28-year-old Kayce Leann Keith was in the residence on Lewis was arrested for outstanding local municipal warrants.

Officers recovered a weapon under the truck at the accident scene on Virginia, and a black pellet handgun at the residence on Lewis.

Officers also located a small amount of methamphetamines near the crash site on Virginia.

The driver of the truck remains hospitalized.

This incident remains under investigation.
