Amarillo Police Arrest Woman After Early Morning Burglary and Assault

Video evidence showed Ysenia Machuca break into her ex-boyfriend's house through the window with a shovel.

AMARILLO – Early this morning Amarillo Police responded to an Aggravated Assault call at a residence in the 6200 block of NE 12th.

Police arrested 32-year-old Ysenia Machuca after the investigation found she cut herself breaking into an ex-boyfriends house. The injury is non-life threatening.

Machuca’s family told police the injury occurred during a domestic disturbance with the ex-boyfriend at another residence.

The ex-boyfriend provided officers with video evidence from his cell phone that Machuca had actually cut herself by breaking into his house through a kitchen window.  In the video, officers were able to see Machuca break the window with a shovel and began crawling inside. The female also hit the ex-boyfriend with her fist as she was trying to crawl in through the house.

The hospital treated Machuca for her injuries; police arrested Machuca for Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Felony, and for a local municipal warrant.
