Amarillo Police Arrest Man on CounterfeIt Charges and Outstanding Warrants

Officers found 6 counterfeit bills along with drug paraphernalia during a vehicle search
AMARILLO -- On Wednesday 3:30 p.m., APD COPPS officers watched 28-year-old Gabriel Palasio Toquinto, who has outstanding felony warrants, sitting in a vehicle in the 500 block of S Georgia.

Officers detained the individual before he was able to evade officers.

Police searched the vehicle and found 6 counterfeit bills along with drug paraphernalia.

Toquinto was arrested and booked into Potter County Correction Center on an outstanding Parole Violation warrant with an original charge of Forgery, a warrant for Evading Arrest/Detention with a Motor Vehicle, and charges of Forgery Financial Instrument, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
