UPDATE: Suspect Caught in July Walmart Assault

Tyree Lamont Sanford surrendered to Amarillo Police carrying his 4-month-old child Wednesday.
UPDATE 10/2/14 -- Amarillo Police gathered information to arrest 33-year-old Tyree Lamont Sanford in connection to the July 20 event at Walmart.

On August 11, detectives secured two warrants charging Sanford with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  

On October 1, APD COPPS officers received information that Sanford was in a home at 4010 SW 3rd Avenue.  

When Sanford did not immediately come to the door, officers secured the area and called for SWAT.  While SWAT officers were responding, Daniels came out. 

He was carrying his four month old child.  The child was later released to his mother.  

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

AMARILLO 7/20/14 -- Police are still looking for the man that stole items from Walmart then fled.

It happened yesterday afternoon at the Walmart off Grand.

Officers were called out after reports of a man stealing.

The man was being questioned in an office when police say he became more aggressive.

Then they say he pulled out a gun and threatened employees.

By the time police arrived, the suspect was gone.

No one was injured.
