(NBC News)Preparations are underway for next week's Boston Marathon in Boston, Massachusetts, where on Tuesday the city will hold a remembrance ceremony honoring the victims of the bombing that happened one year ago.
The scars of that fateful day run deep in this city, but its citizens have made it clear that these scars don't define them.
"Last year we were tested, this year we still feel grief. But what we see here is a tribute to how, as a community, we have come through these tragedies," said Boston Mayor Martin Walsh
The recovery of these tragedies will continue with this year's race which takes place on Monday, April 21st.
