2nd Annual Great Armadillo Hunt and Click

More than a hundred bikers revved up their engines, all in the name of giving back.
More than a hundred bikers revved up their engines, all in the name of giving back.

It's all part of  2nd annual Great Armadillo Hunt and Click.

More than 120 motorcyclists hopped on their hogs, and their mission was to visit as many businesses in Amarillo as possible, within 4 hours.

To prove that they were actually there, was all at the click of a button.

Martha's Home Development Director Mary Kay Kuhrts says, "it's a photo scavenger hunt.  So each person had to go out and find the place and take a photograph with the motorcycle in it."

Each picture is worth points, and at the end of the trip whoever has the most pictures, wins.

Once the points were tallied up, then came the post hunt and click party.

There was live music, games and all the food you could imagine.

Kuhrts says,"all of this food is donated by local restaraunts.  Hoffbrau, Cowboy Gelato, Tyler's Barbecue. We've got a silent auction."

All the money raised  will go toward Martha's Home, a non-profit here in town that provides a home for those in need and offers a wide range of programs to help women in children rebuild their lives.

Event Volunteer Karen Stovall says, "it's just something that's close to my heart."

Kuhrts tells us the community support, as well as the volunteers are the ones who make events like this possible.

"It's just a passion I have within me and i think that we need to help others and i want to be there and help people if I can," says Stovall.

Kuhrts says," you can't put on an event like this without great volunteers and everybody has a special reason in their heart to help Martha's Home.  We wouldn't be who we are today without volunteers."

She says at last years event they raised just over $2,500, but this year they are on track for raising more than $5,000.

All of that money will go toward helping the women of Martha's Home.
