CLOVIS -- Cannon Air Force Base is having a 2014 Air Show featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds and the Air Force Academy Wings of Blue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 24 and 25.
There hasn't been an air show in the area since 2006.
Many Air Force and Special Operations aircraft will be on display, including light tactical airlift aircraft, the remotely-piloted MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper, the AC-130W Stinger II, the venerable AC-130H Spectre Gunship, the MC-130J Commando II, the CV-22 Osprey and other combat vehicles and equipment employed in worldwide military operations.
Parking will be available just outside the Cannon AFB Main Gate. Free buses will transport directly to and from the flight line events.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase, so please don't bring alcohol, coolers or large bags. This will help speed visitors through the security lines.
