(NBC News) The countdown is on.
An estimated one-million people are expected to pack into New York's Times Square tonight to ring in 2014.
The New Year's Eve ball adorned with more than 2,600 Waterford crystals and 32,000 lights was tested Monday ahead of tonight's big celebration, and revelers from around the world have already begun descending on Times Square.
Police are ready and security is tight.
With temperatures in the mid-20s, this year will be the coldest New Year's Eve in years, but even chilly weather won't keep millions away from the experience of a lifetime.
