WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement to mark the 12th anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001:
“Today, our hearts are heavy as we remember the attacks on American soil just 12 years ago. Nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives, many in the attempt to save others from harm. Their acts of courage stay with us, inspiring every American as we have rebuilt from that day.
“We keep the families of the victims in our prayers, as well as the service members, intelligence professionals, and law enforcement personnel—including so many Texans— who have served and sacrificed since that fateful day to keep us safe. We keep our promise to never forget and vow to remain vigilant to ensure the safety and security of all Americans.”
