CLOVIS -- A Clovis man will serve 23 years in prison.
25-year-old Paul Villanueva was sentenced today after being found guilty of kidnapping, aggravated burglary, sexual assault and assault with a deadly weapon against a peace officer.
During the attack against an ex-girlfriend, Villanueva was shot by an officer while trying to escape the scene in May of 2012.
He must serve 85-percent of the sentence.
