AMARILLO -- The City of Amarillo is reporting that an estimated 150,000 gallons of wastewater was spilled from Lift Station 40, located at 7100 Cliffside.

Officials say the discharge occurred at 8:30 a.m. today and was due to multiple pump failures.

The wastewater is a combination of domestic, commercial and industrial wastewaters. The wastewater flowed into an open pasture adjacent to the lift station.
