City Names New Director of Aviation

Following a four-month, nationwide search, the City of Amarillo has announced that Sara A. Freese will become the new Director of Aviation.
AMARILLO -- The City of Amarillo has hired Sara Freese to become the new Director of Aviation. She starts today.

In that role, Freese will plan, organize and direct all airport administration, management and operations associated with AMA, reporting directly to the City Manager's office. Additionally, she will be responsible for directing airport operations and maintenance of buildings, grounds, runways, taxiways, machinery and vehicles.

Freese has more than 14 years of experience in the airport industry and has worked in all facets of aviation including airlines, Fixed Based Operators (FBO), private airports and firefighting.

“We are excited to have Sara join our organization,” says Amarillo Deputy City Manager Vicki Covey. “Her experience and enthusiasm will take Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport into the future.”

“I’m honored to be selected to lead the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport,” Freese says. “The airport is a vital link to the region. I'm excited to partner with the community, tenants and the talented staff to provide great customer service to our customers and the community.”
