It's a lunch, months in the making, and all to make sure more people can enjoy a nice meal over the holidays.
Many volunteers came out to the Salvation Army to serve food at the annual Christmas day lunch.
A coordinator of the event says they're pleased with the turnout and wants the community to know how greatful they are.
Social services coordinator Lois McDonald says, Amarillo has been so generous. Our christmas program, angel tree went ove absolutely awesome, people were so generous with the children then turned around, and come in and volunteered here at the shelter."
Mcdonald says they've been planning the lunch for months.
