WICHITA FALLS -- One person is taken to the hospital after a car hits a bus in Clay County.

It happened this morning around 11:30 on Highway 287 in Bellevue.

DPS troopers say the Chevy Impala pulled in front of a bus carrying Amarillo High School cheerleaders to a state volleyball game in Dallas.

Troopers say no one on the bus was hurt but a 29-year-old passenger in the car was taken to Clay County Memorial Hospital.

The students were taken to a Bellevue Church until another bus from Amarillo could arrive and take them to Dallas.

Troopers say the 52-year-old driver of the Impala was ticketed for "Failure to Yield the Right of Way at an Open Intersection."
