Borger Police officers and detectives say they'll continue to investigate the incident.
BORGER -- A person is dead and another is behind bars after a family argument gets out of control in Borger.

The deadly argument happened at a home on Nelson Street, around 6:30 last night.

Borger Police responded to a call and found Herschel Moffitt dead after he was shot by his son.

According to a Hutchinson County official, 23-year-old Brendan Moffitt, who usually goes by his middle name Kai, was arrested for murder by Borger Police last night.

Borger Police say it was a family disturbance that escalated.

A conversation on Kai's facebook between he and his dad shows they've been fighting for some time. With Kai even threatening his dad at one point saying quote "don't fall asleep tonight."

That exchange happened on December 31st, one day before the shooting.

Brendan Moffitt is currently being held in the Borger jail, his bond is set at $100,000.
