(NBC News) Firefighters are reporting some progress against the wildfire that has destroyed more than a dozen homes near Big Sur, California.
The fire, which has destroyed at least 22 buildings and forced the evacuation of nearly 100 residents, is now 20-percent contained.
It has consumed almost 800 acres of property overlooking the Pacific Ocean since it began on Sunday.
Crews say they expect to have the fire completely under control by Friday if conditions on the ground remain stable.
