Bean and Cornbread Luncheon Sets $100,000 Goal

The 16th Annual Beans and Cornbread luncheon will take place Monday from 11:30 am till 1 pm at the Amarillo Civic Center.

The 16th Annual Beans and Cornbread luncheon will take place Monday from 11:30 am till 1 pm at the Amarillo Civic Center. This luncheon has grown to about 1,200 attendees each year. In 2012, businesses and individuals contributed $95,000 to this luncheon. This year's goal is to reach $100,000.

The luncheon is the kick-off for the Interfaith Campaign for the Homeless. It is based on the idea that a person can sustain on beans and cornbread. This year's speaker, William C. Moyers is the author of New York Times bestseller, 'Broken: My Story of Addiction and Redemption'. Moyers will give his personal testimony on addiction.
