The CEO of Apple is urging Congress to pass a bill barring workplace discrimination based on an employee's sexual orientation or gender identity.

The bill is on the agenda for the Senate today.

It would change Federal law to protect LGBT workers against worklplace discrimination alongside current laws that protect people based on their sex, race, and religion, among other things.

If passed in the Senate, it would still need to go before the House of Representatives.
