Amarillo Symphony Presents: Intimate Evening

Amarillo Symphony Presents: Intimate Evening - Friday & Saturday - 8 p.m. - Performing Arts Center - www.AmarilloSymphony.org - Tickets Start at $10
The Amarillo Symphony, the leader of orchestral music in the Texas Panhandle since 1924, has announced that due to a family illness music director and conductor Jacomo Rafael Bairos will not be conducting the Intimate Evening concerts. Guest conductor Yaniv Dinur will lead the orchestra for these concerts on January 24 and 25 at the Performing Arts Center.

Considered a passionate and insightful musician, by Michael Tilson Thomas - the music director of the San Francisco Symphony and artistic director of the New World Symphony Orchestra, Yaniv Dinur began his conducting career at the age of 19 when he was invited to perform with the Israel Camerata Orchestra in Jerusalem, making him the youngest conductor ever invited to conduct an orchestra in Israel. Deemed a marvelous conductor by mentor Kurt Masur, Mr. Dinur is also a passionate lecturer and music educator and currently serves as director of orchestral activities at American University in Washington DC. Mr. Dinur considers it his mission to bring college students to the concert halls, and often meets with students in universities around the world and introduces them to classical music.

"Thanks to the Amarillo Symphony's national reputation, we were able to secure an astounding conductor on short notice," said Susan White, executive director of the Amarillo Symphony. "The audience is in for a great treat as we prepare for Intimate Evening with this dynamic young conductor."

The campaign to increase the accessibility of the Amarillo Symphony by decreasing ticket prices continues this season thanks to the generosity of numerous visionaries within the community. Single tickets are available for $10, $25 or $40. Season subscriptions are still available and may be secured by contacting the Amarillo Symphony office at 806-376-8782.

Intimate Evening will be held at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25 at 8:00 pm. For more information about Intimate Evening or to purchase tickets, please visit www.amarillosymphony.org or call 806-376-8782.
