Amarillo Police responded to 380 calls between 5 pm on New Year's Eve through 7 am New Year's Day.
Amarillo Police responded to 380 calls between 5 pm on New Year's Eve through 7 am New Year's Day.

These calls included a shooting and a stabbing.

The officers working under the Texas Department of Transportation Traffic Grant made 4 DUI arrest, 3 arrests for possession of marijuana and 1 municipal arrest. They also issued 17 speeding citations, 2 seatbelt violations, 1 child restraint violation, and 15 other non moving violations. In addition to the 4 DUI arrest, APD field officers working their normal duties made 5 arrests for DUI, for a total of 9 during the New Year’s Eve time period.
