Amarillo Police Investigating Possible Personal Robbery

The caller advised a man sitting in a vehicle outside the business was forcing another customer to withdraw money from his account.
AMARILLO -- Amarillo Police were called out at 2:26 p.m. to the Bank of America at 3601 S Washington about a possible robbery taking place.

The caller advised a man sitting in a vehicle outside the business was forcing another customer to withdraw money from his account. The “victim” was reportedly inside the bank in the process of making a withdraw when officers were called and arrived. 
Officers located the suspect sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot matching the description. The male was detained and placed in a patrol car pending further investigation. 

Police determined the male inside and the male found in the car are acquaintances however it is unclear at this time whether any “robbery” or “extortion” was actually taking place. 

The suspect is identified as 26-year-old Martin Garcia. Garcia had two outstanding bond surrender warrants for his arrest, one out of Potter Co. one in Randall Co. Garcia was transported and booked into Randall County. 

The incident remains under investigation.
