AMARILLO -- Amarillo Police arrested David Scott Nunn, 36, on Tuesday for Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle, Evading Arrest/Detention and an outstanding Randall County warrant.
Police say at 4:40 p.m., a APD Motors officers working traffic in a school zone in the 6500 block of Fulton clocked a motorcycle speeding and police pulled the motorcycle over. Nunn pulled over but as officers approached Nunn sped off.
Officers checked the area and later found the vehicle abandoned in the 4000 block of Montague. The motorcycle was later determined to have been stolen on Monday.
Witnesses told officers that Nunn was seen walking away from the area and pointed officers in the general direction.
officers soon found Nunn in the 4000 block of Pinehurst and after a short foot chase Nunn was arrested.
Nunn was transported and booked into Randall County Jail.
Additional officers went to a nearby residence in the 4000 block of Oakhurst in attempt to gather more information on Nunn. Officers were given permission to search the residence and an additional stolen motorcycle was recovered and returned to its owner. Both stolen motorcycle incidents remain under investigation.
