Amarillo Fire Department and Amarillo Police Called Out on Vehicle Explosion

The Amarillo Police Department Bomb Squad and Amarillo Fire Marshal's Office were dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident.
AMARILLO -- Amarillo Fire Department and Amarillo Police were called out at 7:19 P.M. Tuesday to at 7:19 P.M. to 3318 S. Western on a vehicle explosion. 

When personnel arrived, they found a vehicle that appeared to have exploded but was not on fire. 

A victim that was inside of the vehicle at the time of the incident was also located. The victim was treated on scene by fire and EMS personnel for very minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. 

The Amarillo Police Department Bomb Squad and Amarillo Fire Marshal's Office were dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident. 

A joint investigation revealed that this explosion was accidental due to gas vapors from an acetylene tank stored inside the trunk of the vehicle.
