CLOVIS -- Albert Jose Ramirez, 25, was found guilty by a Curry County jury of First Degree Murder and two counts of Tampering with Evidence after a week long trial.
Ramirez was convicted of the murder of his mothers boyfriend, Eladio Robledo. On July 12, 2007, Ramirez went to his mothers home against a no trespass order, and gunned down Robledo in the front yard. Ramirez fled the scene and was arrested three days later by the Clovis Police Department, hiding in a bedroom of a friends home.
Judge Hartley ordered that a pre-sentence report be prepared and a sentencing hearing will be held at a later date.
Ramirez faces life in prison, plus six years.
