(NBC News) As the nation prepares to mark the 12th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, construction crews are busy finishing the museum that will soon explore the tragedy of that day.
The 110,000 square foot space sits beneath twin reflecting pools that fill the void left by the fallen World Trade Center towers.
For families of the nearly 3,000 victims, the museum is sacred.
Jay Winuk's brother Glenn died helping people escape.
"This is a burial ground," Winuk points out. "Let's not make any mistake about that."
