5th Grade Students Win local Wreath Competition

Those wreaths will also hang in the lobby at the Discovery Center throughout the Christmas season.
AMARILLO -- Some elementary school students are decking the halls with a little wreath competition.

It took place today at the Globe-News Center and our very own John Harris was one of the judges.

The event was part of "Windows on a Wider World", which enriches the education of students in the panhandle through the arts and cultural experiences they might not get otherwise.

The winning wreaths -- Dimmitt, Groom and Boys Ranch -- will each receive a complete set of books from author Gary Hogg for their school libraries.
