Possible Merger for Indoor Football League

- AMARILLO -- Executives from the CPIFL (Champions Professional Indoor Football League) and the LSFL (Lone Star Football League) are forming committees to explore a possible merger to create a new indoor football league.

The concept of the two leagues working together began several months ago with an initial meeting in the home city of the LSFL’s Amarillo Venom and have continued to progress.

Though this merger is not yet a reality, league officials hope to finalize details in the coming weeks and begin preparations for the 2015 season.

The LSFL currently boasts teams in the Texas cities of Abilene, Amarillo, McAllen, Odessa, San Angelo and an additional team in Rio Rancho, NM.  Additional negotiations are ongoing with several other Texas-based cities for expansion. The Midwestern focused CPIFL includes teams in Tulsa, OK, Dodge City, Wichita, Topeka and Salina, KS, Lincoln and Omaha, NE, Sioux City, IA, and Bloomington, IL.

Like their counterpart, the CPIFL is in negotiations with other potential teams in the Midwest region.
