WT's Annual Kickoff Luncheon Scheduled for Thursday, August 21st


CANYON – Following the most successful athletic and academic season in school history, the West Texas A&M Athletic Department invites members of Buff Nation to join us for the annual WT Athletics Kickoff Luncheon scheduled for Thursday, August 21st at I Don’t Know Sports Bar & Grill in Amarillo beginning at 11:45 a.m.

Tickets for the event are $15 and ONLY available for advance purchase, fans can purchase their tickets online or by calling the WT Ticket Office at (806) 651-1414. Local fans can purchase their tickets at the WT Ticket Office located inside of the First United Bank Center on Monday-Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The final day to purchase tickets for the event will be Friday, August 15th.

The event, presented by the WT Buffalo Club, will see head football coach Mike Nesbitt along with selected student-athletes taking the stage to talk about progress of preseason workouts along with a preview of the upcoming campaign. Coaches and student-athletes from the other fall sports will also be on hand to meet-and-greet with members of Buff Nation.

Following lunch, the WT Athletic Department is proud to welcome current Fox Sports Southwest Host/Reporter and former Lady Buff softball standout Erin Hartigan as the event’s special guest speaker. Hartigan played for the Lady Buffs from 2006-09, being named an All-Region selection her senior season while graduating with her degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Erin joined the Fox Sports family in the fall of 2010, relocating to Dallas from Kansas City where she spent her first year out of school executing sports sales & marketing and in-house video production for AthletixNation, while also hosting its weekly syndicated college football highlight show.

The Omaha, Nebraska native began her FOX career on the ".com" side, covering Big 12 football and college football recruiting for Scout.com, in addition to events like the Super Bowl, NFL Combine, Senior Bowl, Men's College World Series, Big 12 Basketball Tournament, MLB winter meetings, and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

After three and a half years online and as a broadcast freelancer, Erin finally made her full-time transition to the FOX television side, covering NBA, College Football, Texas High School Football, the Texas Rangers and all things Big 12 for Fox Sports Southwest.
