The West Texas A&M football team fell to 17th in the AFCA poll after Saturday's 31-27 loss to Tarleton State.

The Buffs led Saturday's game 27-3 at halftime before giving up 28 unanswered points.  The loss was WT's first loss of the season and dropped them to a record of 5-1.

Tarleton State, which was tied for 21st before beating WT, jumped up to number 14 with the win.  The Texans are the only undefeated team in the Lone Star Conference.

The only other LSC team to crack the top 25 is Midwestern State.  The Mustangs moved up one spot to 24th after beating McMurry.
