ORIGINAL:

According to Wes Reeves, Xcel Energy's spokesperson, the Van Buren Substation has lost its feed from an electric transmission line.

Xcel says they have identified the issue and are working to repair it, but it is possible that it could take as long as two hours to get the line re-energized.

Xcel tells us the outage is affecting 4,671 customers in the western part of downtown and several neighborhoods to the west and north.

Reeves says they are hoping to get some groups of customers restored by tapping neighboring substations, but they will not be able to restore all customers until the transmission line into Van Buren is energized.
