CANYON --  A local student organization is wanting to make sure their peers make the right decisions during spring break
Pulse is hosting several awareness events this week at West Texas A&M University.
It's all part of "Safe Spring Break Week".
Today, they hosted a "mocktail" contest, where students learn to make non-alcoholic cocktails.
It's a way to teach their peers about alcohol safety, and show that you can have fun on spring break without alcohol.
Caleb Hubbard the WTAMU PULSE President, said "Safe Spring Break has been going on all week and it's always the week before Spring Break and what it is, is to promote everyone going to have fun but also being safe. This mocktail contest is to promote a safe spring break and you can have fun without alcohol."
Members of PULSE are also raising awareness on drugs, sexual responsibility and other issues students may encounter on spring break.
