Wildfire Turns Deadly
By Jay Gray
(NBC News) At least one person is dead and thousands have been evacuated as a deadly wildfire burns near Guthrie, Oklahoma.
Firefighters say they're now making progress in containing the blaze.
"We still have some hot spots flaring up, but for the most part, still going to say 75 percent containment," Guthrie Fire Chief Eric Harlow said early Monday.
Thousands were forced to evacuate Sunday as the wind-swept wildfire burned across 4,000 acres.
One resident, a 56-year-old man, refused to leave his home and died in the fire.
At least 20 homes have been damaged or destroyed. Dozens more remain in the fire's path.
