orlando, Florida -
(WESH) He's been gone, deployed in a war zone, missing loved ones and family, but most of all his children.
That all changed Monday morning, when Army Staff Sgt. Anthony Petrelli, of Daytona Beach, Florida returned home to surprise his 9-year-old daughter at school.
Third-grader Angellina Petrelli was chosen to read an essay she wrote about Memorial Day during an assembly at St. Paul's Catholic School.
As she mentioned her father, who had been serving in Afghanistan, he walked out.
"I'm super proud of my daughter and I'm glad to be home," Anthony Petrelli said. "It's been a long time."
