Tuscon, Arizona -
(KPNX) The owner of a Tucson, Arizona convenience store is showing would-be thieves who's boss. Instead of giving into their criminal demands, he's fighting crime with his fist, when necessary.
An incident over the weekend was caught on camera.
His name is Maen Mdanat but neighbors call him "The Convenience Store Man", a super-hero in the fight against crime.
Judging by the surveillance tape clip, the nickname fits.
Around 1:30 Saturday morning Maen says a would-be thief entered his store, asking his clerk for cash.
"I could hear him talking, saying money, and my clerk was here," says Maen pointing to his TV monitor.
Recognizing trouble, Maen says he came out of his office, showed the suspect the door and was sucker punched.
Little did the man know, Maen trained with an Army Special Forces Unit.
"He was comfortable walking in, showing his muscle, like I can do whatever I want," says Maen, "that's basically the message he gave me when he walked in. But I changed his idea when he walked out."
