(KDLT) Each Christmas, the Walmart in Yankton, South Dakota fills semis full of everything from electronics to toys.
Unfortunately not everything that's put on layaway gets picked up.
Manager Chad Bent says it's simply because people can't afford it.
But this holiday season, Walmart employees are seeing their customers cry for a different reason at the layaway counter.
"One young lady was just absolutely in tears. She just stood there and cried and cried and cried. She couldn't say a word. She was just so overcome that someone would do that for her," Bent says.
That's because, three different people have payed off layaway debt totaling more than $1,200.
