AMARILLO -- Homeless veterans in Amarillo are getting some aid, to the tune of $192,000.
The grant was given to Salvation Army of Amarillo, who's teaming up with Texas Veterans Commission to create The Next Step. The Next Step program gives veterans and their families temporary housing immediately, at the Harrington Hope Center, located at 400 S. Harrison in Amarillo.

Veterans and their families can have immediate shelter for up to 90 days, and many other services including anger management, parenting and budgeting tips.
