UPDATE: Seven Sent to Hospital After Semi Crashes Into McDonald's

- AMARILLO - Seven people were sent to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash at Amarillo Boulevard and North Pierce Tuesday night.

Officers responded to the accident just before 10 pm Tuesday night. A white Honda was headed east on Amarillo Boulevard when a semi entered the intersection and hit the Honda. The car spun away and the truck continued south and crossed the curb, hitting a Ford Explorer on the west side of the McDonald's at 400 Amarillo Boulevard.

The impact pushed the Ford Explorer through the west wall of the building, and the truck also entered the building and rolled over onto the vehicle.

The female driver of the Explorer was removed from the car and taken to the hospital.  Amarillo Fire Department officials were able to get the truck driver out shortly before midnight.  He was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Seven people were taken to the hospital in total, including the driver of the Ford Explorer, the truck driver, and five others, some from the Honda and some from inside the McDonald's. None of the injuries are reported as life-threatening.
