AMARILLO -- The United Way of Amarillo and Canyon donated thousands of dollars to help foster children aging out of foster care.

$60,000 have been awarded to the Buckner Bruce Ford Transition Center.

That money will be spread out over the next three years.

Last year, Buckner served more than 207 kids in Amarillo through foster and adoption services.

Buckner gives foster kids resources and support as they age out of foster care.

They also offer housing for single parents while they are enrolled in vocational programs.
