AMARILLO -- Guests of United Family Supermarkets in the Texas Panhandle contributed $62,778 to the relief efforts for victims of the recent fire in the Sanford-Fritch area.
During the two-week-long fundraising campaign, the company’s $10,000 matching gift made total proceeds for the effort $72,778.
During the campaign, guests at all United Supermarkets, Market Street, and Amigos locations in the Amarillo area added a contribution to their bill during checkout, with proceeds divided equally between The Salvation Army and American Red Cross
“Once again, our guests rose to the challenge to help their neighbors in need,” said Shelby Crews, community relations manager for The United Family. “We are truly honored by their generosity and compassion, and offer our sincerest thanks for their support of this great cause.”
Participating stores included the nine Amarillo locations, as well stores in Borger, Canyon, Dalhart, Dumas, Pampa and Perryton.
