AUSTIN -- The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved by resolution financial assistance for $620,000 from the Agriculture Water Conservation Loan Program to the North Plains Groundwater Conservation District. The financial assistance will allow the District to convert its agricultural research field to the North Plains Water Conservation Center.

The Centers focus will be on demonstrating the application of practical water conservation strategies using the latest on-farm irrigation management technologies and conservation methods.

The financial assistance will also allow for needed upgrades to the Centers water delivery, and irrigation and monitoring systems, which will use the latest technologies to demonstrate water conservation practices. In addition, a variety of water conservation management strategies will be demonstrated at the Center.
