Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

AMARILLO -- On Wednesday, a Potter County Sheriffs Deputy pulled over Jack Noble, 62, on I-40 West near Atkinson Road for on view traffic offense.
The deputy reported he immediately smelled and recognized the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle when he approached.
Noble admitted to possessing a burnt marijuana cigarette in the vehicle and a small amount of unused marijuana.
The vehicle was searched and about 12 pounds of marijuana was found in 12 individually sealed packages inside a suitcase in the vehicle.
He was arrested for Possession of Marijuana over 5 lbs. and under 50 lbs., and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
The estimated street value of the marijuana is $60,000. The drugs were reportedly being transported from California to Oklahoma.
