AMARILLO -- More money is on its way to several counties in our area to fix roads that need repair because of heavy traffic.

The Texas Transportation Commission is giving TxDOT $225 million to fix roadways that are in oil and gas boom areas.

They say because more heavy vehicles are in the area the roads are seeing more wear and tear.

Texas has the largest highway system in the nation.

Experts say in addition to the booming energy industry more than a thousand people move to our state each and every day.
